In the summer of Year Ten, Alex Stokes buys an electric guitar and forms his own rock group. What follows could well be the most incredible saga in the school’s musical history! Surviving different line-ups, impossible love affairs and brutal school politics, by Year Thirteen Alex’s band are a tightly knit four-piece and their final gig is nothing short of remarkable – but have individual members paid too high a price?

I directed Sheffield people's theatre's young company in musical differences: we did a lot of movement work and choral speaking to explore the characterless script
We performed twice in the crucible studio
and then again as the opening show for the
NT connections festival week: the crucible was the regional hub
'The production had a bold simplicity and a moving emotional intelligence [George] coaxed from his young actors a
set of strong performances, some of which were remarkable and all of which demonstrated a commitment to telling the story and understanding of complexities of the writing.'
Robert Hastie- Artistic Director, Sheffield Crucible.
